Basically, arbitrarily fast, but one has to accomodate for aerodynamics,
which is nontrivial for narrow channels. I think 30-50 km/h is plenty
within HiveCity, since it's just 2-5 km across (Christaller like cells,
recursive cell hierarcy, stiff truss structure (how's for some asteroid
nickel iron, delivered smack from orbit?), hanging cubicles made from
light silicate honeycomb, etc. etc.). Once you leave it left it, you can
of course go arbitrarily fast, whether by plane, subterraneous satellite
or plain hypersonic shuttle.

Movement in 6 directions? Basically, it's a carrier thing. The carrier is
either a hook, or a support platform. It might be a conventional vehicle,
utilizing external machinery for changing tiers, it might be something
more fancy. Just drab implementation issues ;)

That's the key of the idea. Structures, whether semiramis flats panels,
or truss components should fit in a standard container. One size fits all.
