To my mind (or what passes for my mind) its kind of a fun idea to somehow,
convert areas of the Gas Giants, to earth-like, life zones. Alternatively,
these worlds could remain untouched, as you suggest, and there could also be
super-hardy types of critters that would enjoy the intense radiation, the the
-200º temps, and the sweet breath of frozen ammonia. Both of these ideas are
essentially fantasies, however they need not remain so.
