20 minutes would be somewhat practical. I'd assume MEMS tech could apply to
jet packs. I'm surprised the military haven't developed this for specialized
usages. How about mounting a laser cannon and retractable laser mirror
shield (if there is such a thing) to it?

Speaking of the military and lasers... would laser cannons mounted under
helium balloons have no "heat signature"? Could such a balloon be a
"stealth" balloon with a specialized shape and surface material?
