Well, some positive developments today.
A new form of gene therapy is demonstrating some promise
with respect to AIDS. Interestingly it seems they are
using an HIV derived gene therapy vector to turn off the
CCR5 receptor required by HIV to infect cells. Now isn't
that a "turn about is fair play" game!

Other studies are providing more information that viral,
and perhaps other, infections may play a role in heart
attacks and strokes.
