A few months ago Slashdot talked about a Japanese ultralight
helicopter, at http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=02/11/21/1733238.

I looked up some of the U.S. aviation regulations, and there are
few restrictions on using experimental aircraft. The main one though
is that you can't fly over a "congested area", which means any built-up
area. So that would rule them out for any but sport use.
