### There's nothing at all wrong with those activities if they're considered
recreational and in the proper context as you say. They are undeniably part
of our human nature.
On the other hand, I think that many of us find that sort of acvtivity
increasingly unfullfilling, typically after indulging it in our earlier
(more "childish") years. After a while, we begin to feel that "the point of
life" has more to do with growth.
"Watered-down", and "sweetness & light" are straw men that no one was
suggesting.
