Good post Avatar!

My own realization of many of your points made me into
a strong proponent of missile defense and openness. The
doctrine of Mutual Assured Destruction was predicated upon
the notion that the adversary that fired the missile had
something worth destroying. Looks to me like anyone
can smuggle or bribe their way into Afganistan with an
ICBM and fire away without fear of retaliation.

Unless we can somehow rid this planet of all weapons of
mass destruction, we face mass destruction. spike
