Well damn. A year ago, I posted to extropians
a calculation that there was a 50% chance the
next record prime would be discovered by November
2002, which is history now. What happened is the
number of participants in GIMPS levelled off,
or rather grew more slowly than I anticipated.
One would almost get the impression that not
many people even care what is the largest known
prime number. spike
