However, one should note that Britain is the odd one out in Europe. It
is noticeable more americophilic than the rest.

There is a difference between liking *americans* and liking the *US* or
the *US government*. Even in traditionally anti-american Sweden people
in general think that americans are OK as people when they decry the
evil imperialism of the Bush Regime.

It is probably true that the most noise against America comes from a
small group. But that group has a tremendous influence in legitimizing
prejudices.
