I read some of the posts. Anders Greg, express much of my views.

People on email lists are not groups. Please, let's please remove the
labeling of "group" on individual views.

Having lived in several other countries than the U.S., I can say that when
out of the U.S., it is very easy to be judgmental. I was from time to time.
Whether or not you intend to be judgmental, someone may take it that way.
While you are expending your life experiences, you are not living here and
you are writing about your love of other cultures - the Greeks, or
Italians. While these cultures are clearly more dignified and worldly,
more anthropological and have a richer, deeper history than the U.S.,
Americans are known for pride and strength of character. Americans are
also recognized for the cowboy mentality, which frankly, I like.

I lived in Europe and in the Orient. It doesn't matter which country or
which hemisphere; people complain and criticize for conversation - over
dinner, coffee wine or tea. It's part of socialization.

What I do like about Europe, for example, is that politics are part of
conversation and people don't pull the trigger or the TV remote so quickly.

We need to take a breather.

Best,

Natasha
