First of, I am certainly not a socialist! And I don't want to be in
charge of anybody.

Well ... people voting for a specific political party are expressing
their view of the common good. And democracy is far more important than
what economic system is currently applied to the society.

The democracy is what allows people to change the economic system when
it turns out not work. Disruption of power without bloodsheed and
revolution.

In a Libertarian state where the free market is everything and there is
no government, I could easily imagine that it would be very difficult to
change the economic system to something else. Even if it turns out that
it does not work.
