If the lyrics were changed to verbalize the angst some of us feel about
death -- the damned finality of death -- it would express emotions of most
of my friends about death itself, and the religious glorification of death.

"One shot" brings out a primal cry that we have one shot at life and we
better not screw it up. I don't believe in reincarnation or afterlife
stories, so the last chance is a one shot to live as long and as healthy as
possible.

The emotions many cryonicists feel about death are strong, sincere and
ruthless. We do not want death to take our life and the life of others.
Our compassion for the pain of illness and finality of death often causes
us to become intolerable about belief systems that harbor a fantastical
stage set.

Yes, this song is great.
