If you claim that I was using the words communism & socialism as if I
confused them then you probably can make your case -- the key words being "as
if."
But I am well aware that socialist and communist theorist have debated
the endless varieties of communism and socialism as long as the two words
have existed.
The key distinction so far as I can tell is that the socialists claim
to be ever so much nicer than the communists. But like the communists they
nationalize private property. In Germany they ran concentration camps, etc.
In the end I have to say that the socialist usually don't seem to get the
power to be as repressive as the communist but that when they do, as in
Germany, they are just as deadly as the communists. Beyond that I am not
interested in playing word games. With both, when we get to extensional
definitions there just isn't that much difference.
