I remember the 2nd World War and also the collapse of the Soviet
Union. The end in both seemed somewhat similar. A very strong enemy, then a
few cracks followed by sudden and total collapse. Hopefully Sadaam in the
bunker will get to experience the same sensations and earlier rather than
later.
As to Checkers, I haven't played serious Checkers for forty years but
do not have any impression of it being a boys game or a grown man's version
of Tic-Tac-Toe. Rather back in those days it was more like boxing a blind
man if I played the ordinary person that had learned "boys checkers." They
simply didn't see the board.
However sitting all that aside -- I have a vague memory that Chinook
has roundly trounced the last World Checker Champion that challenged the
Chinook program. There was no "stalemate" to it.
An on line friend of mine will be in line to go to Iraq. I won't ask
or speculate on troop movements, etc but I did say that if he found himself
in a rabbit patch I wished him good hunting and prayed for his safety. Them
rabbits can be tough.
