I think about it, but I still conclude that the
masses know what they want. No one knows better.
If we want to develop super-longevity, we must
*sell it*. There will be no lack of buyers.

And there will be no lack of non-buyers. I would
expect a very large percentage of the proletariat
that would choose to live out their miserable 70
years and perish. As time goes on, more and more
may choose to live longer and longer, this being
a function of improving quality of life provided
by advancing technology.

One of the things I see changing in the next
couple decades (assuming no singularity) is that
it will become a *lot* more fun to be very old.
Currently we do damn little to entertain the elderly.
Take this from one who has organized musical groups
to play at the nursing home: their entertainment is
truly pathetic. Hey, they like *us*.
And we suck.

I can imagine some really good VRs, that infirm and
nearly immobile persons could use to enjoy a fantasy
mind trip. And of course there is the previously
examined notion of genital stimulation for the
elderly and infirm, something that isn't done
at all currently, but should be. It might not
add years to the life, but it would add life to
the years.

If these VRs are any good, people will buy them.
If people buy them, they will make money.
If they make money, people will develop and improve
them. Companies will compete, better and better
sims evolve. Rich old geezers will have orgasms.
Wealth will be created. Everyone wins.
