Imo the 'growing evidence' would seem to imply red mercury was an urban
legend/hoax, perpetrated by mostly Russian sources. It's supposed to be a
reddish liquid/semisolid, created by irradiation of mercury in an
accelerator. It's supposed to be a neutron reflector/multiplier.

I'm also pretty much unfamiliar with the physics as well. Until evidence
is presented, I'm sticking with the 'hoax' hypothesis.
