If you think Europeans haven't been targeted by Islamist terrorists
in recent years, then you either haven't followed the news or the
navel-gazing American media have ignored it.

Earlier this year, an attack on a synagogue on Djerba (Tunesia)
killed a score of mostly German tourists, and a dozen French were
blown up in Karachi. A couple of years back there was a bombing
campaign in Paris, the Russians have suffered from Chechen terrorists,
and there have been attacks on tourists in Egypt. Oh, and although
the final numbers aren't in yet, a bunch of Europeans have been
killed and wounded on Bali, too.

And of course Europe has suffered from internal terrorism at a time
when Americans still considered this a purely foreign problem.
