This reminds me of the joke by the comedian Steven Wright, who said with
a straight face that he came home from work one day and noticed that all
of his furniture had been stolen and replaced by exact replicas.
It occurs to me that the problems and paradoxes in this thread would go
away if we discussed them in E-Prime. In E-Prime we find no need to
puzzle about the identities of our emulations. We can say only that they
look like us and act like us.
