What would happen if we put together an engineered virus, or some other gene
therapy, to modify these genes? Could we turn ourselves all kinds of cool
colours (hair, eyes, skin...)? How about patterns? Stripes?

Being able to change skin colour would be something to push toward. Not only
would it be truly funky, it would be the ultimate way of rejecting race, if
you were so inclined. How do you pin race on someone who's done out in black
and white escher birds & fish??
