One might plausibly wonder at whether the labels denoted the same
political stance in both countries. I would tend to suspect that they
didn't, as what a political party "stands for" tends to change over the
years even within the same country, so I would expect a rapid divergence
between countries (even if they tended to keep largely the same rhetoric).
