I have several conjectures regarding what is going on.
But *WARNING*: perhaps you should form your own ideas
*before* reading mine, because it may turn out to be
true that I exert a form of mild mind-control, in the
sense of delineating the issues in such a fashion as
to preclude independent thought in some readers.
(Such has been one accusation.)
An unbiased reader, I think, (I hope) will conclude
that none of the three theories I'm writing up today
is deliberately intended to make me look "right" and
my critics "wrong", though each does IMO provide a
framework on which evidence could be gathered which
indeed might indict someone, not excepting me. Of
course, subtle mechanisms in my own brain may prevent
the formation of theories or hypotheses inimical to
my interests; if so, then that too is your job.
I *emphasize* that anyone is perfectly free to create
his or her own explanations, or ignore mine, or any
further postings.
