Ayn Rand Institute Responds to My Critique on Corporations

After the lecture by Yaron Brook and Leonard Piekoff
on 9/902, there was an extensive Q & A/comment period.
I was the last questioner, and I directed my
question/comment at the incredibly positive portrayal
given by the speakers of American Corporations.

The gist of my remarks had to do with the fact that
the corporation is a child of the state, it's very
name taken from that fact ("corpus" - body -
artificial person created by state fiat to assume
liability for the actions of very real people. I also
outlined the history of the rise of the
corporate/state as a consequence of the move against
true free enterprise by the "progressives" financed by
the big money who wanted to create a fascist permanent
elite.

They did not agree: So, this followed.

Dear ARI Lecture Attendee:

I'm writing to thank you for attending our first free
public lecture
in Orange County. Thanks to you, the event was a
tremendous success!
We hope that you enjoyed it, and that it gave you
some valuable food
for thought.

This letter also introduces our Lecture Update mailing
list. Through
your membership in this list, you'll be able to hear
about all of our
future local events. We intend to schedule about one
lecture per
month, and through this list you will receive
invitations to each of
them.

Our next talk will be held October 21 at the Hyatt
Regency Irvine
(the same location as the previous talk). We will
open our doors at
6:30 PM, and I will begin speaking at 7:30, with Q&A
to follow. The
title will be: "The Crisis in Corporate America."

Corporations are the lifeblood of the American economy
- why, then,
have they been under attack by our government and our
intellectuals
for the past 70 years? In this talk, I will
demonstrate:

 - The suicidal nature of current policies aimed at
increasing
regulations and controls;
 - That corporate fraud is a direct result of the
ideas taught in our
universities, and of over-regulation by the
government; and
 - That the solution to problems in Corporate America
is a decrease
in government controls and an increase in rational
philosophy.

If you enjoyed my last lecture on September 9th, you
may be
