Hello,

I like many probably use things like portals' news gateways.

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/
http://news.google.com/
http://news.altavista.com/

I browse those, but often I find myself having interest in more than the
palaverous pablum of "AP" or "UPI" syndicate feeds.

Thus, I used the portals to find more sources of alternative news.

http://www.commondreams.org/
http://www.alternet.org/
http://www.mapinc.org/drugnews/
http://www.indymedia.org/
http://www.etherzone.com/

Oftentimes I want to read news from regions in conflict.

http://www.albawaba.com/main/index.ns.php3?lang=e

Sometimes I want to read news from the old country.

http://www.thescotsman.co.uk/
http://www.ireland.com/
http://www.berlinnews.com/
http://www.lemonde.fr/
http://www.guardian.co.uk/

Sometimes I read slashdot and news.com.com. About business sometimes I
browse to http://www.brint.com/newswire.htm.

What I want to read are more stories about primary and applied research
in groundbreaking fields. A lot of times they are notices on the
university and laboratory pages and in journals, I would be interested
in browsing through hundreds of those listings daily.
