I think the U. S. & Britain have been allies many times and I hope
that whatever direction we choose to go we will be going the same direction.
Over here we seem to be having a rousing good debate on what we should
do. I was especially pleased that you could state your position so clearly
and so politely. As someone said long ago, "Gentlemen may disagree without
being disagreeable."
