Yes, and you really didn't get sensationalist in describing what happened. I

That was a hard fought war with little civility on either side. You
had Dresden, Hamburg and Tokyo on your side. We had Nanking and Coventry
among others on our side.
At the time neither side had much mercy for the other. Today we find
ourselves embarrassed by past conduct.
