Yes, I get a similar meaning from "amortal". To me it suggests
"god-like" which seems a bit over the top for our basic purpose of
identifying an indefinitely long life constrained only by physical laws.
One might conclude that amortality is the next step after immortality.
Damien mentioned Stableford's "emortal." I'm not familiar with
Stabelford's use of that term but it has a nice ring to it...
