The Aviano Air Force base, located in Friuli (Italy), is not subjected
to Italian laws. People living in there (or going out, for military reasons,
like air missions) are subiected to U.S. law. Of course this causes
problems in case of accident (frequently). As far as I know the
Aviano treaty between Italy and U.S. was not published.

The same, of course, is true for the Navy base in Sigonella (Sicily)

and in La Maddalena island (Sardinia)

and so on (Naples, secret bases, etc.)
