       You are essentially correct. When I see a picture of a young Marine
PFC squating on a cold hillside (recently in Afghanistan) nestling his rifle
and freezing but alert I don't respect him out of any sense of "Owing." I
respect him because I understand his love for our country and his willingness
to be used up in our service.
