OOOOPs, Forgot about that. :-(
Even the nearby U.S. Consulate provide ("NEW!") Tax services to 'help'
U.S. citizens in Germany, with a full IRS office in Berlin. But the
U.S. has an income tax treaty with Germany and Italy (I'm not familiar
with other countries) for preventing double taxation.
The general rule is that you don't pay U.S. taxes on foreign source
income if the foreign tax rate is higher than the U.S. rate (true
in Germany and Italy, certainly.). If the foreign rate is lower, then
you will have to pay U.S. taxes on the difference between the rates.
