MEDIA: Capitol Steps

I just returned home from seeing the Capitol Steps - a musical
political review show on Broadway.

They tackled the Microsoft anti-trust suit by bringing out Michael
Jackson, Bob Dylan and Liza Minelli look-alikes to sing the song "We
All Use Word" (to the tune of We Are the World) as a spoof fund-raiser
for an impoverished Bill Gates.

After that was over, the Bob Dylan character stuck around on stage to
sing "Everybody Must Get Cloned" -- which, title aside, seemed
decidedly anti-cloning. A second Bob Dylan came out on stage and sang
with the first - then a third came out all hideously mutated and picked
a fight with the second clone. The lyrics were clever, but I still
felt uneasy sitting through a meme-poisoning performance. How could
cloning be wrong? sigh...

If tonight wasn't the end of their fourth run on Broadway, I'd suggest
the show. I looked for a copy of "Everybody Must Get Cloned" online,
but only found the CD for sale at capsteps.com - off the album "When
Bush Comes to Shove".

Enjoy,

-crw.
