I don't see how quantum tunneling is relevant to immortality unless you
think just one atom in the wrong state would destroy you. There will
certainly be repair mechanisms so if a atom made an error change it. There
is a parallel, the genetic germ line is about 3 billion years old and errors
are made in it all the time but it still hasn't been reduced to gibberish,
in fact I think it has gotten better but that's just my opinion.
