Actually, they are not, but not due to any breakthroughs in cryptoattacks.
Most end user ordering and online banking is secured via SSL sessions (my
bank is using TANs, basically one time pad delivered via dead tree).
It's rather trivial to spoof a site if you're in possession of a valid
built-in cert, due to cert handling in most major browsers, Internet
Exploder first and foremost.
As usually, the weakest link is elsewhere.
