Oops, my state as a transvampire has been revealed!
When reading Freitas' vasculoid paper I constantly wondered when or if
he would mention the cosmetic effects of removing all blood and
replacing it with nanofluid. A basic vasculoid system would make a
person vaxy pale, with perhaps a slight bluish sheen from the saphire -
a perfect transvampire. Freitas solution with ruby plates for arteries
is cute, but will likely not look traditionally alive; chromatophores in
the system would however have plenty of fun potential!
So maybe we will one day be transvampires, elegantly pale, thin, with
virtual shadow agents executing our whims, nearly invulnerable to
physical trauma (including stakes in the heart) but hungering after
blood glucose to power all our nanites :-)
