       The human element in science. I'll bet you have also seen in science
as I have in engineering workers that were really motivated by their own
(almost childish) curiosity. I still have a vivid memory of one of the best
engineers I ever met getting really turned on trying to solve a problem or to
examine a new device or effect that he had come across -- utility was purely
secondary. Come to think of it the 2nd best engineer I ever met also did the
same thing.
       Sometimes, I would meet the same thing in the form of "look what we
made" or "look what I can do with this." LOL
