GETTY SOIREE - Friday, September 6th at 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

I hope to see you all at this Getty Soiree because I think we will have a
lot to talk about. Also, if you want to see Max before he leaves for
Austin, this may be one of your best opportunities!

Soiree Discussion: Technology & Business

"You'd think that, in summer 2002, with the red ink of a thousand bankrupt
dot-coms still bleeding across the stock charts, everyone could agree on
what happened to the Internet. Big money poured in; a few got rich, many
lost their shirts. Trend became gold rush became bubble. Pop ---" - Scott
Rosenberg (Salon.com)

Anyone heard about the Telluride Tech Festival? Scott Brown, founder of
the Tech Fest sez: "Telluride was the Silicon Valley of the 1890's". I
just spoke on the phone with Scott (who I have known for 30 years) and
he welcomes our input. See Wired article and a few others newsworthy pieces:

(Nikola Tesla, Serbian-born American electrical engineer and physicist who
discovered the principles of alternating current (1881) and invented
numerous devices and procedures that were seminal to the development of
radio and the harnessing of electricity.)

See you Friday, September 6th at 7:00 - 9:00 on the patio overlooking the
gardens. It's on the level just below the main level toward the back of
the museum and to the right as you enter.
