Mike,
I believe it was Heinlein that said man was a wild animal. And, that
the greatest tragedies of human history have occured because someone had
tried to tame him.
I read John Taylor Gatto upon your recommendation and have also read a
recent book called Heaven on Earth. Heaven on Earth is a short history of
the various isms flocking under the broad term socialism.
If human history is to continue under present conditions without the
singularity or uploading then I expect it to continue as a continuing battle
between those that suffer the sickness of wishing to dictate how others live
and those that will not be told. If the singularity, etc. occur it may still
continue to be a battle
