"True. But how much of his writing is online, or easy to find for someone
casting about for information about transhumanist political stances?"

If you type in transhumanist and politics mostly your site comes up -:)

"Maybe it would be a good idea for us to make a few essays about his
thinking and writings? This way they can both be brought to people's
attention, and also put them in the current context (it is often
rewarding to take a look at the "foundational" documents and compare them
to the current situation, both in evaluating their impact and evaluating
what points have lasted)."

Good idea. I can quote him and put it up on his website
http://www.fm-2030.com and at Transhuman Infomark http://www.transhuman.org.

I also think it would also be advantageous for some of us to write essays
on transhumanist politics. This would represent a diverse set of views.
