Think of the social-economic-political-religious construct known as Islam.
Consider that in the era's of the Reformation, The Renaissaunce, The Middle
Ages, Christianty bore a strong resemblence in attitudes and opinions, to
current day Islam. The analogy is far too simple since there have always been
strong differences between the two faith. However, picture the Inquisition's
chief Torturer, Torquemada, armed with missle systems, and mirv'd nukes. This
is sort of what we are facing today and in the future. Not paletable, but its
what seems to be, and if we wait till San Diego, or yes, Sidney is reduced to
the Dead Zone, its far to late to arrive at a more peaceful response.
