Silence is a quite legitimate answer and one that I wish had seen more
airing post-911. If you can't at least start from the premise of "If you
can't think of anything good to do, don't do something harmful just to be
'doing something'", then you're not likely to keep gnawing at the mental
challenge until you find a genuinely useful solution.

What should we do if Manhattan gets nuked? Well, medical care for the
victims would be a good start.
