Brian D Williams:
Unfortunately there are many who think us weak simpering fools and
we have suffered tragically for letting them get that impression.
### As much as some groups hate America, very few would think Americans are
weak, or simpering. The consensus (of the misinformed miscreants) is that
the American state behaves like a blustering bully blockhead. Precipitous,
protean, and protracted action is likely to reinforce this erroneous belief.

PS. As an explanation - I am all for open military intervention against
well-defined targets, like the Taliban were, and I do agree that prudently
applied violence not only solves problems, sometimes it is the best
solution - but the plans for covert actions against fuzzily defined targets
to be performed by poorly accountable secret organizations do not sound
prudent at all.
