I think it cares a great deal, it just doesn't let what it
considers ill informed opinion to sway it's judgement.
The rest of the world wants more say so than it gets, and it's
miffed that the U.S. won't go along with THEIR plan.
We get criticized for acting in our own best interests by countries
that are acting in their own best interests.
>If Americans criticize the U.S. government, are they still branded
>as 'unpatriotic'?
Not for good criticism, but most so called criticism is nothing
more than cheap shots.
>I'm not sure if the U.S. media is criticizing the U.S. government
>on grounds of moral principles yet but they lately seem to be
>criticizing on grounds of economics ('our economy can't afford a

That's because the U.S. media is bleeding heart liberal and card
carrying members of the Democratic party. They're looking for a
chink in the armor for the upcoming election.
Hardly objective.
