Thinking about the non-mainstream magazines appear in the waiting room of
doctor's offices, etc., they usually have enough information about a
particular subject that patients enjoy reading, or are prompted to read
because of the nature of their visit. If there were an office for AI,
nanotechnology or extropic critical thinking, and hoards of folks in the
waiting room waiting to be upgraded, then yes, a transhumanist magazine
would be essential.

Or, if transhumanism because as popular as life extension, then we could
engage advertising from all sorts of transhumanist businesses that would
gladly have their products in the magazine.

The best R&D approach, at this stage, would be to figure out how many
transhumanist type businesses are around (scientific, technological,
biotech, cultural, arts and entertainment, robotics, prosthetics,
engineering, etc.) and educational facilities that promote futuristic
courses and courses that fit into the above areas.

The reason some non-mainstream life extension magazines stay in existence
is because of the advertising of vitamins, etc. Others are freebies and
owners make money from the ads and people advertise because of the wide
exposure and availability of the magazine.

Sometimes I daydream at the bookstore's magazine rack and transpose
the magazine covers and text to transhumanist images and themes. One day,
one day it will happen. I don't know how or when, but it shall -:)
