Worse for the victim. Having to wait for a legislated
death by the state surrounded by guards who hold you
in contempt for something you didn't do, knowing that
there's esentially no hope at escape. Except for the
case of extremely gruesome, or prolonged tortorous
deaths, I for one believe death by a murderer is much
less horrible. And the methods are barbaric when we
know relatively painless ways to execute involving
extreme chemical euphoria. But of course as we saw
with McVeigh that there's a huge desire for revenge in
the American spirit, so this won't happen anytime soon.
