Universe as a computer or maybe more?

As was said If the universe is a "computer" ;
    -what is the program or problem it is attempting to solve?
    an insoluble problem or not...
    If it is using parallel processing you might conjecture that each
life spawning instance which leads to permanent stable intelligence
might be compared to a cell.
Each networked group of intelligences spanning say the "size" of a
galaxy might be considered "tissue". Each organized say 100 million
light year "space" could be akin to an organ. Is the "body" currently
self-aware?

I would suggest the very simplistic conjecture that just as all other
systems seem to be involved in self-preservation and reproduction that
the universe might be the same.

A worthy problem for a universe "size" and "aged" intelligence might be
"how to preserve its evolving consciousness beyond it's own physical
demise".
