I said professional "manner". You changed it to professional "matter".
It is perfectly possible and respectable to act in a professional manner
even in unprofessional matters. Despite your "ironic" spoofing of my
writing style, I am trying to respond to you in a professional manner.

And, yes, I do consider promoting best security practices and
discouraging poor security practices to be a professional matter for me.

My CISSP certification requests that I:
- "Promote and preserve public trust and confidence in information and
systems"
- "Promote the understanding and acceptance of product information
security measures"
- "Discourage unsafe practice"

My SANS training for certification mandates that I:
- "accept responsibility in making decisions with consideration for the
security and welfare of the community"

My (ISC)^2 professional society requires that I:
- "Promote good information security concepts and practices"

My ACM professional society declares it imperative that I:
- "contribute to society and human well-being"
- "improve public understanding of computing and its consequences"
- "reduce harm to members of the public, thereby serving the public
interest and fulfilling social responsibility"

My IEEE professional society requires that I:
- "disclose promptly factors that might endanger the public or the
environment"
- "to improve the understanding of technology; its appropriate
application, and potential consequences"
- "to seek, accept, and offer honest criticism of technical work"

My AITP professional society requires I:
- "have an obligation to society and will participate to the best of my
ability in the dissemination of knowledge pertaining to the general
development and understanding of information processing."

I wish more professionals and experts would take time to participate and
share their expertise with us on this list. That is one of its primary
goals, and it would greatly increase the signal-to-noise ratio.
