I think this is right, but I have only one data point. I was a very light
eater as a child and was a vegetarian from about age 14 to 22. I was
very developmentally delayed. I shaved for the first time when I was
a junior in college. I have always wondered if there was a connection
between the fasting and late maturity.
The next question is why are kids eating more than in past times?
