### Ever since I started dreaming about bodily enhancement, about 25 years
ago, I had a different idea - since I am quite fond of the consumption part,
I'd like to keep it but I'd prefer to dispense with excretion. We could
design improved glands in the stomach and a souped-up pancreas, to fully
digest all components of our food, leaving no solid residue for bacteria to
thrive on, stopping gaseous emissions, and as a bonus, allowing us to
subsist even on sawdust in case of a famine. Also, improved kidneys could
fully metabolize urea, uric acid, etc. The surplus inorganic salts could be
excreted unobtrusively as sweat. Of course, you would need to keep your
fluid intake down, a blow to the oenophiles, but then, progress requires
some sacrifices now and then.
