Cryonics and IJ in NY Times

Today's (Sunday's) New York Times carried two articles of note for readers of
this list. Both appeared in the "Week in Review" section--the Sunday Times'
editorial and commentary section.

In one story, the Times gave a very straightforward (and therefore reasonably
sympathetic) account of the technology of cryonics. It included a very nice
graphic that, among other features, made clear that Alcor does not just dump
people into liquid nitrogen.

In the other, the Times gave like coverage to an account of how the Institute
for Justice, a libertarian public interest law firm, skillfully framed the
debate leading up the the recent decision of the U.S. Supreme Court upholding
the constitutionality of school vouchers. Remarkably, to this
long-disgruntled reader of the Times' descriptions of IJ, it did *not* call
the firm "conservative" or "right wing."
