This is just an off-the-wall impression but my observation
would be that within the last couple of days the ExI list
has regained some of its "vibrancy".
The only two factors I can attribute this to are the return
of Greg Burch and/or activities of Max More (as a promoter of
extropic memes) in confrontation with the "forces of evil".
Maybe totally off the wall, but possibly food for thought.
How do we create lists(s) that satisfy the requirement
for data input (the THT list is a very large pipe,
difficult to drink from) as well as conversation and
community (people with whom one can have productive
discussion based on shared perspectives and values)
as well as political action (interaction with individuals
outside of (or even anti-) the TH community in such
a way that one might develop co-benificial vectors?)
