<< I'm not suggesting any particular political model... I think we will
need to experiment with many different
models. Different colonies will try different politics... it's a matter of
experimentation to see what works best.

Now you have the ability to design a new and enlightening "colony" based on
extropic transhumanist ideas and values. Rather than settling for any one
specific political model, it seems to me that it would be of far greater
value to pick and choose from a number of policies and forums to build the
most advantageous architecture for transhumanist society.

Approximately 50% of the people I know would not choose a libertarian
colony, a democratic colony, or a socialistic colony based on the policies
designed by either world-based political party. Spinning off a Vita-More
democracy/21stCentury, a Hughes democracy/socialist, or a Newstrom
democracy/liberty is only a 6 degrees of separation from the other *if*
such democracies are based on transhumanist values.

If it boils down to trade issues and whether transhumanists think it is of
more value to prepare for the Singularity or to give aid to 3rd World
countries, we need to take a look at our values. Forgive the
simplification.
